Our Birth Wellness Package is designed for pregnant and postpartum patients, with a focus on physical and emotional well-being. These sessions incorporate individualized exercises, manual therapy, and education to help alleviate discomfort, support pelvic floor function, prepare for birth, and promote postpartum recovery.

The package consists of four physical therapy sessions: three prenatal visits and one postpartum visit.

Three Prenatal Visits

One prenatal physical therapy evaluation and two birth preparation follow-up visits to assess your whole body, including your pelvic floor, and help prepare you for birth and postpartum recovery.

During these sessions, you will receive:

  • Education on body mechanics

  • Manual therapy to support pelvic alignment and overall well-being

  • Education on pelvic floor relaxation and activation

  • Whole-body mobility exercises to promote mobility and strength

  • Breathing and pushing techniques to prepare for birth

  • Education on perineal massage

  • Strategies to potentially reduce labor duration and the risk of perineal tearing

  • Guidance on labor and birth positions, including partner support and techniques to support you throughout labor and delivery.

One Postpartum Visit

Your initial postpartum visit is typically scheduled between four and six weeks after birth. We will assess how you move, your strength, and your range of motion, including that of your spine, hips, rib cage, and pelvic floor. We will also assess for diastasis recti (separation of the abdominal muscles).

Based on our findings, we will develop an individualized exercise program to help you return to your desired level of activity.

During this session, you will receive:

  • A whole-body assessment

  • Assessment for diastasis recti

  • Assessment of external and internal pelvic floor muscle strength and tone, as appropriate

  • Visceral mobilization and other hands-on techniques to support postpartum recovery

  • Pelvis repositioning techniques by incorporating Postural Restoration® principles

  • Perineal or cesarean scar mobilization, as appropriate, to address restricted tissue mobility and discomfort

  • An individualized exercise plan to help you return to your preferred pre-pregnancy activities

If you have any questions, please feel free to email us. We look forward to supporting you through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery!

Please note that payment for the Postpartum Assessment is collected in advance at the conclusion of the third session of the package.
