At PelviCare Physical Therapy, we understand how important bladder health is to your daily comfort and confidence. If you are experiencing urinary urgency, frequency, urinary incontinence when you laugh, cough, or sneeze, or difficulty fully emptying your bladder please get in touch with us, as we will be able to help you with your symptoms.

Our team provides specialized pelvic floor physical therapy for bladder health in a compassionate and supportive environment. We focus on evidence-based techniques to restore bladder control, improve pelvic floor strength, and help you regain confidence in your everyday life.

WHAT IS BLADDER DYSFUNCTION?

Bladder dysfunction can affect people of all ages and genders, and often shows up in ways that interfere with daily life. A healthy bladder can comfortably hold urine for approximately 2-3 hours without urgency, fear of accidents, or discomfort. It should also allow you to laugh, cough, or exercise without worry of urinary incontinence.

If you are avoiding activities or always planning your day around the nearest restroom, it might be time to seek support. At our Boulder office, we offer a comprehensive and holistic approach to bladder dysfunction treatment with a focus on understanding the root causes and creating a personalized path forward.

Common Bladder Conditions We Treat

At PelviCare, we treat a range of bladder-related issues, including:

  • Stress urinary incontinence

  • Urge incontinence

  • Overactive bladder

  • Urinary urgency and frequency

  • Difficulty starting or completing urination

  • Incomplete bladder emptying

  • Interstitial cystitis (painful bladder syndrome)

  • Nocturia (waking at night to urinate)

This list is not limited. If you don’t see your exact concern listed, feel free to contact us. We are happy to talk through your symptoms and let you know if pelvic floor physical therapy may be a good fit.

HOW WE HELP:

With every patient, we begin with a comprehensive one-on-one pelvic floor evaluation. During this visit, we take the time to understand your medical history, daily habits, and specific bladder symptoms, while carefully assessing the function of your pelvic floor muscles.

At PelviCare PT, we believe in a whole-body approach to bladder health. Since the pelvic floor does not work in isolation, we look at the entire musculoskeletal system and consider bio-psycho-social factors that may affect your symptoms. Stress, lifestyle, and past trauma can all play a significant role in urinary urgency, leakage, or bladder discomfort, and we honor these elements in your treatment plan.

Our goal is to provide personalized pelvic floor physical therapy that not only addresses your symptoms but also supports your overall well-being.

Your treatment plan may include but is not limited to:

  • Pelvic floor muscle training and relaxation techniques

  • Vagus Nerve down-regulation techniques

  • Bladder retraining strategies

  • Education on posture, diet, and lifestyle

  • Manual therapy to address soft tissue or joint dysfunction

  • Behavior modifications to support long-term bladder health

  • A customized home exercise program to continue your progress between visits

Our goal is to help you feel confident, informed, and supported—every step of the way.
