Bowel dysfunction can deeply affect daily comfort and quality of life, yet many people find it difficult to talk about. Whether you are struggling with chronic constipation, fecal incontinence, hemorrhoids, or anal fissures, please know that this can effect many people and that you are not alone.

At our clinic, our approach is compassionate, holistic, and personalized. Every session is one-on-one and tailored to your unique needs. Together, we focus not only on reducing uncomfortable symptoms but also on addressing the root causes of bowel and pelvic health concerns.

Our goal is to help you restore confidence, improve bowel function, and enhance your overall well-being.

What is Normal?

A healthy bowel routine is different for everyone. For some, a bowel movement every day is typical; for others, three times per week may be normal. What matters most is that you feel comfortable and are not experiencing leaking, fecal incontinence, pain, straining, or a sense of incomplete emptying.

How Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy Can Help

Bowel dysfunction is often linked to poor coordination or tension in the pelvic floor muscles. In some cases, these muscles may be weak; in others, they may be overactive and unable to relax. We will perform a thorough evaluation to determine how your pelvic floor is contributing to your symptoms and will create a personalized plan to help restore healthy bowel function.

Treatment may include:

  • Pelvic floor muscle training

  • Biofeedback and neuromuscular re-education

  • Breathing and pressure management techniques

  • Training on rectal dilator training

  • Manual therapy for pelvic, abdominal, or rectal scar tissue

  • Guidance on proper toileting posture and bowel habits

  • Lifestyle and dietary modifications
